These Terms and Conditions and Terms of Enrollment (“Terms”) apply to registrations, purchases, private classes, onsite training, and related services provided by Life Saving Education (“LSE,” “we,” “us,” or “our”), unless a separate written proposal, contract, employer agreement, or course-specific policy states otherwise.
1. Acceptance of these Terms
By registering, purchasing, attending, or arranging training, the purchaser and participant agree to these Terms, the applicable course description, prerequisites, completion requirements, cancellation policy, program notices, and checkout disclosures. A purchaser registering another person or a group is responsible for providing these Terms to each participant.
2. Registration information and legal names
Participants must provide accurate contact information and, when required for training records or completion documents, their correct legal name. LSE is not responsible for delays caused by incomplete, inaccurate, or late information. If a third-party issuing organization charges a correction or replacement fee, that cost may be passed through to the participant to the extent permitted by law.
3. Payment and seat confirmation
Payment is due at registration unless LSE approves an invoice or written payment schedule. A seat is not guaranteed until payment or written approval is confirmed. The course page or accepted proposal identifies what is included, such as tuition, manuals, online access, completion cards, materials, equipment, shipping, travel, or facility charges.
Any nonrefundable third-party cost will be identified before purchase when reasonably practicable and retained only to the extent permitted by applicable law and the issuing organization’s rules.
4. Prerequisites and pre-course work
Participants are responsible for reviewing and satisfying all prerequisites before class. LSE may deny participation, transfer the registration, or withhold a completion document when prerequisites are not met.
For blended courses, the required online portion and proof of completion must be finished before the scheduled hands-on session. Refresher, renewal, instructor-development, HAZWOPER, confined-space, rescue, and advanced clinical courses may require current cards, employer confirmation, experience documentation, or other proof.
5. Attendance, punctuality, and participation
Participants must attend and participate in the entire required course. Late arrival, early departure, missed sessions, inadequate participation, or failure to complete required contact hours may make a participant ineligible for completion. A later makeup session or transfer is not guaranteed and remains subject to program rules, instructor availability, and any additional cost.
6. Course completion is not guaranteed
Payment and attendance do not guarantee successful completion. Participants must meet all applicable attendance, conduct, knowledge, skills, testing, identity-verification, and documentation requirements. LSE will not alter protected curricula, secure examinations, safety standards, or essential competencies to guarantee a passing result.
7. Completion cards, eCards, and certificates
Completion documents are issued only after all applicable requirements are met and required records are accepted. Processing time depends on the issuing organization, Training Center, Authorizing Training Organization, and accuracy of participant information.
A generic LSE or LearnPress certificate is not a substitute for an American Heart Association course completion eCard, OSHA Outreach student course completion card, authorized Stop the Bleed program certificate, employer certification, professional license, or government credential.
8. Employer and third-party acceptance
Participants and purchasers are responsible for confirming that the selected course, format, provider, completion document, and date satisfy requirements imposed by an employer, licensing body, school, union, project owner, contract, insurer, or jurisdiction. LSE does not guarantee third-party acceptance unless that acceptance is expressly included in a written agreement.
9. Scope of training
Training is educational and does not replace medical advice, legal advice, employer safety programs, medical evaluation, respiratory clearance, fit testing, site-specific instruction, job-specific competency verification, licensure, credentialing, or professional judgment. In an emergency, call 911 and follow current emergency-dispatch instructions.
OSHA Outreach training is an orientation and does not satisfy every OSHA standard-specific training obligation. HAZWOPER and confined-space employers retain responsibility for applicability, written programs, site-specific training, supervised field experience, medical and respiratory requirements, equipment, authorization, and employee competency.
10. Physical participation and safety
Courses may require kneeling, chest compressions, lifting or moving training equipment, wearing personal protective equipment, participating in scenarios, or demonstrating hands-on skills. Participants must follow instructor directions, use equipment only as directed, and promptly disclose safety concerns or accommodation requests. A participant may stop an activity and speak with the instructor if the participant believes the activity is unsafe.
11. Accessibility and accommodations
LSE will work in good faith to provide reasonable access when notified as early as possible. Accommodations cannot remove essential course requirements, compromise safety, alter protected core curricula, invalidate an issuing organization’s requirements, or require issuance of a completion document when required competencies are not demonstrated.
12. Student conduct
LSE may remove a participant for threatening, discriminatory, harassing, unsafe, disruptive, intoxicated, dishonest, exam-compromising, or materially unprofessional conduct. Refunds are not required when removal results from participant conduct, except where required by law.
13. Course materials and intellectual property
Course materials may be owned by LSE, the American Heart Association, the American College of Surgeons, OSHA, publishers, manufacturers, or other rights holders. Registration does not grant permission to copy, record, photograph, distribute, upload, publish, sell, or create derivative works from protected materials. Audio or video recording is prohibited unless LSE gives prior written permission.
14. Photography and marketing
Enrollment alone is not consent for LSE to use a participant’s identifiable image, voice, or testimonial in marketing. Marketing consent, when requested, will be separate and voluntary. LSE may document classroom conditions, equipment, or training activities for internal quality, safety, or recordkeeping purposes when permitted by law and program rules, while taking reasonable steps to avoid unnecessary identification.
15. Private and onsite training
Private and onsite training is also governed by the accepted proposal or contract. The client is responsible for providing the agreed facility, safe access, parking, utilities, seating, participant roster, site contact, and other items identified in the proposal.
The client must disclose known hazards, access restrictions, security requirements, infection-control requirements, hazardous materials, confined spaces, energized systems, respiratory hazards, and other conditions that may affect training. LSE may pause, modify, relocate, or stop training when conditions are unsafe, unsuitable for learning, outside the agreed scope, or inconsistent with program requirements.
Unless expressly included in writing, onsite training does not constitute a workplace inspection, engineering evaluation, legal-compliance audit, rescue-team qualification, medical clearance, fit test, or certification of the client’s program or employees.
16. Scheduling, cancellation, transfer, and refunds
The current Cancellation, Transfer, and Refund Policy is incorporated into these Terms. Course-specific terms, private proposals, issuing-organization rules, and applicable law control if they provide different requirements.
17. LSE cancellation or rescheduling
LSE may cancel or reschedule because of instructor illness, weather, unsafe travel, facility problems, low enrollment, equipment failure, program restrictions, public-health conditions, or events beyond reasonable control. The participant may accept an available replacement date or receive the refund required by the applicable policy and law. LSE is not responsible for indirect expenses such as lost wages, travel, lodging, childcare, employer penalties, or lost business opportunity, except where the law requires otherwise.
For a trainer-canceled OSHA Outreach class, LSE will follow current OSHA Outreach requirements, including full reimbursement within the required timeframe when a student does not affirmatively accept a rescheduled class.
18. Communications
By registering, participants authorize LSE to send transactional email, telephone, or text communications reasonably necessary for registration, reminders, schedule changes, completion records, and safety information. Marketing communications require separate consent where required, and recipients may opt out of marketing without affecting course-related messages.
19. Privacy
LSE collects and uses information as described in its Privacy Policy. Information may be shared with payment processors, hosting and learning-platform providers, the applicable Training Center or Authorizing Training Organization, an employer or purchaser, and issuing organizations as reasonably necessary to provide training, process records, issue completion documents, prevent fraud, and meet legal or program requirements.
20. Website use
Users may not interfere with site security, attempt unauthorized access, misuse accounts, scrape protected content, introduce malicious code, impersonate another person, or use the website for unlawful purposes. LSE may suspend access when reasonably necessary to protect users, records, or systems.
21. No waiver of legal rights
Nothing in these Terms waives rights or remedies that cannot lawfully be waived. If any provision is found unenforceable, the remaining provisions will continue to the fullest extent permitted by law.
22. Governing law
Unless a separate written agreement states otherwise, these Terms are governed by the laws of the District of Columbia, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. This provision does not eliminate any consumer right or venue protection that applies under controlling law.
23. Changes to these Terms
LSE may update these Terms prospectively. The version displayed at the time of registration generally applies to that transaction unless a change is required by law, an issuing organization, or a written agreement.
