Life Saving Education (“LSE,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, retain, and protect information when you use lifesavingedu.com, register for training, purchase products or services, create an account, request an onsite-training quote, or otherwise interact with us.
1. Information we collect
Depending on how you interact with LSE, we may collect:
- Identity and contact information: name, legal name when required for course records, email address, telephone number, mailing address, employer, job title, and emergency contact when operationally necessary.
- Registration and training information: selected course, session date, attendance, prerequisites, prior cards or credentials, skills or testing status, course-completion records, accommodation requests, and employer or purchaser information.
- Payment and transaction information: order details, billing information, refund history, and payment status. Payment-card data is generally processed by third-party payment processors rather than stored directly by LSE.
- Account and website information: username, account settings, IP address, browser type, device information, cookies, login activity, pages viewed, and referral information.
- Communications: emails, form submissions, text messages, call notes, support requests, reviews, and responses to surveys.
- Onsite-training information: facility contact details, participant rosters, site-access requirements, known hazards, equipment needs, and information necessary to plan and document the requested training.
Please do not send medical records, diagnoses, Social Security numbers, or other sensitive information unless LSE specifically requests it for a legitimate and secure purpose. An accommodation request should describe the access need without unnecessary medical detail.
2. How we use information
We use information to:
- process registrations, orders, payments, transfers, and refunds;
- communicate class details, reminders, prerequisites, schedule changes, and completion information;
- verify identity, attendance, eligibility, and course requirements;
- create and maintain training records and request completion cards or eCards;
- provide accounts, customer service, onsite proposals, and group-training coordination;
- maintain safety, prevent fraud, protect secure course materials, and enforce our terms;
- improve courses, website performance, accessibility, and business operations;
- comply with legal, tax, recordkeeping, issuing-organization, Training Center, Authorizing Training Organization, or employer requirements; and
- send marketing communications when permitted and consented to, with an opportunity to opt out.
3. Training records and issuing organizations
Some courses require LSE to collect and retain information for a Training Center, Authorizing Training Organization, employer, course sponsor, or issuing organization. For example, AHA course records may be processed through the applicable AHA Training Center, and OSHA Outreach classes require trainer-maintained records and submission of information needed to request student course completion cards.
LSE is not a healthcare provider merely because it provides medical and emergency-response education. Course-registration information is not automatically protected health information under HIPAA. We nevertheless limit collection of health-related information and handle accommodation and safety information with care.
4. How we share information
We may share information with:
- website hosting, learning-management, email, communications, scheduling, analytics, and security providers;
- payment processors and financial institutions;
- the applicable AHA Training Center, OSHA Authorizing Training Organization, course sponsor, card or certificate issuer, or program administrator;
- an employer, organization, or purchaser that paid for or arranged the training, limited to information reasonably related to registration, attendance, completion status, and contract administration;
- instructors, staff, subcontractors, and facilities supporting the course;
- professional advisers, insurers, auditors, and legal authorities when reasonably necessary; and
- a successor organization in connection with a merger, sale, financing, or transfer of business assets.
We do not sell personal information for money. We do not disclose identifiable student information for unrelated advertising by third parties.
5. Cookies and similar technologies
WordPress, LearnPress, WooCommerce, security tools, analytics tools, and embedded services may use cookies or similar technologies for login, shopping-cart functions, preferences, fraud prevention, performance, and analytics. You can control cookies through your browser, but disabling necessary cookies may prevent account, checkout, or course functions from working.
6. Embedded content and external services
Pages may include maps, videos, payment tools, social media, forms, or other content provided by third parties. Those providers may collect information under their own privacy policies. LSE is not responsible for the privacy practices of unaffiliated sites linked from our website.
7. Communications and text messages
We may send transactional communications needed to administer a registration or service. Where required, marketing email or text messages are sent only with appropriate consent. You may opt out of marketing messages, but you may continue to receive essential course, order, account, safety, and completion communications.
8. Data retention
We retain information for as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described above, including course-record requirements, card replacement, tax and accounting obligations, disputes, safety documentation, contracts, fraud prevention, and legal compliance. Different programs have different required retention periods. OSHA Outreach trainers, for example, maintain required class records under current program requirements.
9. Security
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards appropriate to the nature of the information. No website, email system, or storage method is completely secure. Users are responsible for protecting account passwords and notifying LSE of suspected unauthorized access.
10. Your choices and requests
You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of personal information associated with your account, subject to identity verification and exceptions for records we must retain for legal, safety, tax, contractual, issuing-organization, or program purposes. You may also request an export of information available through your WordPress account tools.
To make a privacy request, email Lifesavingedu@gmail.com. We may need to verify your identity before acting on a request.
11. Children and minors
The website is not directed to children under 13, and LSE does not knowingly collect online personal information from a child under 13 without appropriate authorization. A parent, legal guardian, school, employer, or sponsoring organization may register a minor for an age-appropriate class. Additional consent, supervision, and photo-release rules may apply.
12. Photography and testimonials
Enrollment alone is not consent for marketing use of a participant’s identifiable image, voice, or testimonial. LSE will seek separate permission before using identifiable participant media for promotional purposes, unless another lawful written agreement applies.
13. State and other privacy rights
Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under applicable privacy law. LSE will honor legally valid requests and will not unlawfully discriminate against a person for exercising a privacy right.
14. Changes to this Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy to reflect changes in services, technology, program requirements, or law. The revised date will be posted at the top of the page.
